St. Michael Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do, thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell satan and all of the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Glory to God in the Highest!

A Guided Journey into the Tomb

Go into your quiet place and pray.

Jesus said:: “But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”
Matthew 6: 6

Entering the Tomb. (An exercise in quiet prayer.)

Kneeling or sitting in a quiet place, close your eyes.

Breathe in and out several times to settle yourself down.

Keeping your eyes closed, ask God to open your heart to Him.

Begin to visualize the quiet place of the Tomb.

Hear the angel roll the stone away.

Very slowly, enter the darkened tomb.

Smell the dampness of the tomb.

Breathe slowly and evenly.

See a dim light in the room as the angels guard the body of our Savior.

Feel the dirt floor as kneel in homage to the Lamb of God.

Touch the cold earth with your hands.

Taste the fragrance of the air as the heavenly smell exudes from the still body of Jesus.

Bow in homage to our God.

You are now in the quiet place of the tomb.

Sit in silence as you contemplate the Passion of Jesus.

When your time is over in the tomb begin your journey out of the tomb.

Bow in homage to Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

Breathe slowly.

Thank the Father for this grace to pray in this quiet place.

Praise God for His gift of Jesus.

Breathing slowly open your eyes.

Sit for a few moments in peace and gratitude.

*****This exercise works beautifully during Eucharistic Adoration, too!*****
