St. Michael Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do, thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell satan and all of the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Glory to God in the Highest!

The Feast of the Epiphany-The end of the Christmas Season

I attended Mass on the Vigil of the Epiphany.  Fr. Richard was the celebrant.  Below are my words summarizing his excellent homily.

Father Richard compared and contrasted the search for the Child Jesus by the Magi and Herod. He remarked that the Magi went where the Lord led them and their reward was to be able to worship the Child Jesus as gentiles.
Herod, on the other hand, was seeking the Child Jesus to hold on to his earthly power. He feared the Child and sought to keep his power by doing it his way and not God's way.
Father Richard reminded  us that when we follow God's way, listen to Him, give Him all we are, and Trust Him, we will grow closer to God.

The trick is to follow the Way of the Lord. What God wants us to do is not easy. It is, often, not what we want to do, but in the end, His way should be our way.

Thanks, Padre!  Your words are most appreciated and loved!
