St. Michael Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do, thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell satan and all of the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Glory to God in the Highest!

Happy All Saints Day and a quiz.

Saints were...

human beings who overcame their inclination to sin and become holy in the eyes of God.

True or False?

True!

Saints had their faults.

True or False?

True!

St. Jerome had a terrible temper.

St. Augustine led a very sinful life until he converted and became a doctor of the Church and a great saint.

Matt Talbot was an alcoholic.

True or False?

True!

Not everyone is saint material.

True of False?

False.

We are all called to become holy.  Sometimes that holiness entails praying for our children and never giving up on them, as St. Monica did with Augustine.  Sometimes, holiness means being honest in our business dealings with others.  The opportunity is for everyone to become holy, whether they be new born or 100 years old.  As long as we live, we are called on to be holy.

If I make it to heaven, I'll never be canonized.

True or False?

If you make it to heaven, you are pure and holy, and you are a saint.  It won't matter if you aren't canonized.  You will be in heaven.  You will be a saint.

Tomorrow, we pray for our dead.
It's All Souls Day.
