St. Michael Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do, thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell satan and all of the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Glory to God in the Highest!

Taking Down the Christmas Decorations

Wait!
(Insert the sounds of brakes screeching and a needle on a record dragging.)
Don't take them down, yet!

Why?

In the Catholic Church,
Christmas,
the second most sacred season of the church year,
has just begun.

Christmas began with the vigil Masses of Christmas, and it will end on January 10th this year, on the feast of the Baptism of Jesus.

After the 10th, the end of the Christmas season, we will drift into ordinary time.
The vestments a priest wears will once again be green.
Now, if you're like me, you have a good reason to leave up your Christmas tree.

Merry Christmas!

Time to let your patron saint choose you for 2016.
