Philippians 4:4-5: "Gaudete in Domino semper" ("Rejoice in the Lord always").
Gaudete Sunday is the Third Sunday of Advent. During this time, we have been encouraged to prepare for the coming of Jesus. We have been encouraged to pray, fast, and to seek the spiritual connection, rather than the secular connection, to Christmas.
At Mass, you will find that the third candle of the Advent Wreath is rose colored. The softer color of this candle shows the tender side of the church reminding us that the time of Jesus is near.
On Gaudate Sunday, the priest has the choice to wear rose colored vestments or to continue with the penitential purple. The time of the Lord is near. Make way His path.
I have a feeling that our Pastor, Father Mariano will choose the rose colored vestments today. Which vestments will your pastor wear?

St. Michael Prayer
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do, thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell satan and all of the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
