St. Michael Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do, thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell satan and all of the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Glory to God in the Highest!

God Answered my Prayers with a Yes!

There was a time that I prayed and asked God to send holy friends, spiritual friends into my life.   If you will recall, He did.

You can read about my Church friend:: "Maureen" HERE.

Now, I'd like to tell you about another friend of mine, named

"Sandra."

I met "Sandra" at a time in my life, when my husband was afflicted with the cancer that took his life.

We met at Mayo Clinic.
Our children had been friends through high school, but "Sandra" and I had not met until that time.
Her husband was at St. Mary's Hospital having a procedure done.
My husband was there having a stem cell transplant.

We met at a restaurant for lunch.
We knew each other by sight, but I was not prepared for the impact this wonderful woman would have on my life.

"Sandra" and I talked, but she, mostly, listened.
She didn't give advice.
She was there for me.
Trust me, at that time in my life, God sent me someone that I needed, someone to be there.

As the years have passed, I have learned so much about Sandra and her spiritual life.
Sandra is very close to God.

Everyday, Sandra reads and studies Sacred Scripture.
Her love of God's word shows in her love for her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and her many, many friends.
Sandra has told me that even though she doesn't pray the Rosary daily, she is always saying
"Hail Marys."
That's a great way to go!

Sandra is a wonderful prayer partner, too.
We ask each other to pray for our children in times of crisis and calm.
Sandra feels very strongly that we must share our prayers needs with each other,
but we must also share the joys of our lives, too.

Sandra is an active member of the Catholic Church she attends.
She serves at funerals.
She attends Bible Study classes.
She attends Mass regularly.

In the community, Sandra delivers
"Meals on Wheels," to the shut ins.
Sandra also does respite care for the elderly at the local community center.

Always active, she will help her friends, when possible.
She travels to and from to help her children.
There is nothing Sandra would not do to help her children.
Her grandchildren are a delight to her.

Sandra lives and gives.

I am truly blessed to have this wonderful woman in my life, as a friend.

Sandra, if you recognize yourself in this post,
I want you to know how grateful I am for your friendship.
Thank you for all your kindnesses to me and my children.
You are a woman of God.
I thank God for you and your friendship

The Call To Serve those with Cancer

Like Jesus became the servant the night of the Last Supper, we, too, must serve. Of course,  the first way to serve is through prayer.  St. Peregrine is the patron saint of those suffering from cancer.  To learn more about Peregrine, and why he is the patron saint of those suffering from cancer, click
                                                     HERE.

A good prayer to use when praying for the intercession of St. Peregrine, is this:

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called "The Mighty", "The Wonder Worker" because
of the numerous miracles which you obtained from God for those who have turned to you in
their need. For so many years, you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys
the very fiber of our being.
You turned to God when the power of human beings could do no more, and you were favored
with the vision of Jesus coming down from His cross to heal your affliction. I now ask God to
heal these sick persons whom I entrust to you:
(here mention their names)
Aided by your powerful intercession, I shall sing with Mary a hymn of gratitude
to God for His great goodness and mercy. Amen.

However, the laborers are need in the field.
There are ways to serve, using our talents.

"Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.  Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen."
1 Peter 4:10-11

When You Don't Feel You Have Enough Time To Pray

There are days, aren't there, when we are just out of sorts, but we need to pray.  We are out of sorts and out of time.  What can we do?  We need to connect with God to fuel our soul.  We need to make that connection to honor and praise Him, but we don't have time.  How can we do it all?  Later, we'll talk about priorities, but right now, I want to show you a quick and easy way to connect with God.  You will have to work to make that connection deep, but you can find time to pray, even in a crazy, busy day!  So, how can we do this?
The solution is easy.

One. Line. Prayers.

#1.  Open the button on the top of this blog that says One Line Prayers.
I have a lot of prayers that might appeal to you.  Read them, slowly.  Copy them to your computer.  Print one or two out at a time.  Place your printout where you can see them.  Read them, slowly, prayerfully for one minute.  Take that small amount of time and give it to God.  He will love you even more as you take this time to reconnect with Our Almighty God!

#2.  Keep a small notebook with you, or use your computer, smart phone, or tablet to create a file called Prayers.  When a thought comes to your mind that you feel could be a prayer, type it in and add it to your file.  Then, take a minute, and concentrate on that prayer, for a moment.  Give God that minute of your life.  When the Spirit moves you, add more of your own, meaningful One Line Prayers to your File.

I'll give you a start with your one minute prayers.  Read these prayerfully, slowly, and stop when you see one that catches your eye.  Give God that minute.

Jesus, I trust in You.

Jesus, may we praise You now and forever.

Praise!  Praise!  His Holy Name.

Blessed be the God of all Creation!

Lord, God, we love You and adore You.

Jesus!  Jesus!  Jesus!

Blessed be the Name of The Lord!

Lord, I am not worthy.

Blessed be the God of Abraham, Moses, and Jacob!
