St. Michael Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do, thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell satan and all of the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Glory to God in the Highest!

7 Quick Takes This Week:: This, That, and the Other...

Saints' feast days are,
for me, like birthdays.
I tend to forget them.
I subscribe to
Saint of the Day,
but I usually don't read the post until the end of the day.
When I think I could have been asking the special saints for special favors on their special day...
Sigh!
Do you think they mind if I ask for their help the day after their special day?

The Glory of God shown on earth!

"Then the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
and all people shall see it together,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
Isaiah 40: 5

I wish I could give attribution for this photo, but I can't.  I will if someone tells me who it is.

Have you ever heard of the
"Before I die" walls.
It's a global art project of love.
Often, they are started as graffiti art on old buildings that need renovating.
The buildings are removed and new walls are started on others.
People state their dreams on these walls.
I hope that I can find one near here.
What would you post on a wall that said, "Before I die?"

Do you pray with your family before meals at home?

"Bless us, Oh, Lord, and these Thy gifts,
which we are about to receive,
from Thy bounty,
through
Christ, Our Lord.
Amen."

Do you pray when you go out to eat?
How about making the
Sign of the Cross when you're out in public?

"In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen."

Prayer is a good habit to practice.

Did you know that most Catholic Churches have a scheduled time for the
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
aka
Confession
on Saturdays?
Have you checked your church to find out what time you can go to receive this
AMAZING
Gift of God?
If you haven't had a chance,
call the church office.
They can tell you.
You can also make an appointment with your priest so that he can hear your confession.
BTW, it's not always a good idea to post some things on  Facebook.
(Smile and Wink)
You know what I mean.

Pray for Pope Francis.
Pray for all of our priests.
They need your prayers.
Pray for them to be strong.
Pray for them to be courageous.
Pray for them to have peace.
Never criticize a priest.

Jesus' revelations to Mutter Vogel
Mutter Vogel was a German woman who buried in Munich, Germany.
Her book is a private revelation of Jesus' words to her.
She devoted her life to praying for priests.

"One should never attack a priest, even when he's in error, rather one should pray and do penance that I'll grant him My grace again.  He alone fully represents Me, even when he doesn't life after My example."

"When a priest fails, we should extend him a helping hand through prayer and through attacks.  I, Myself, will be his judge, no one, but I.  Whoever voices judgment over a priest has voiced it over Me.  Child, never let a priest be attacked, take up his defense."

"Child, never judge your confessor, rather pray much for him and offer every Thursday, through the hands of My Blessed Mother, Holy Communion for him."

"Never again accept an out-of-the-way word about a priest, speak no unkind word about them, even if it were true!  Every priest is My vicar and My heart will be sickened and insulted because of it.  If you hear judgment against a priest, pray a Hail Mary."

  Always remember,
He Loves You!

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
    I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me.
 Your children hasten back,
and those who laid you waste depart from you."
Isaiah 49: 15-17

See you at Mass this weekend!

7 QT's This Week - Days, Weeks, Months and Years

 This week was about art.
I have been working on items for an art show in December.
I'd like to introduce you to
Chesterton.
I kind of like him!
I hope that he goes to a loving home when he gets to the show.
Still a ways to go, though before the show.

For the last 3 years, I have joined a charm exchange hosted by Jenifer Cameron of Glass Addictions.
We each send in 11 charms.  We receive 10 back in exchange for the ones we sent to Jennifer.
The extra charm is auctioned off to support
Beads of Courage, which helps children who are ill,  tell their stories using beads.
My charms are ready to send into Jennifer.
The theme this year is
SOAR.
I hope they like them!

It's been so nice to be able to attend daily Mass again.
I had not idea how much I missed it.
Thank you, Jesus, for this gift.

When I miss Mass during the week,
I offer it up and ask to receive the Eucharist
spiritually.  It's such a gift!

I made this dragonfly cane today.
It has to sit until tomorrow before I reduce it.
(It's made from polymer clay.)
It has to sit so that all of the clay is the same temperature.
Right now, this cane is the size of my hand.
When I finish reducing it tomorrow,
I will have different sizes of cane from a 50 cent piece to the size of a penny.
I can hardly wait to see it when I cut it open.
I think I'm going to like it!

This is the tree in front of my home.
My neighbors across the street moved today.
As a result, there was a discussion among us in the neighborhood about how long we have lived in the neighborhood.
The neighbors who moved had lived there 20 years.
The people next to them have lived in their home, 30 years.
My husband, children, and I moved into this house on October 20 just after my 40th birthday.
Next month, I will be 66!
It's hard to believe that we have lived here for 26 years!
I have lived in this home longer than I lived in the home in which I grew up!
I am amazed at this!

My beautiful therapy dog,
former racer,
Pixie Marie
will be 10 years old next month.
Our birthdays are only days apart!

Here's what true life is all about.

Love the unlovable.

It's all about love!

Have a blessed weekend.
Enjoy your family.
Smile!

7 Quick Takes Friday:: The Triduum - Thoughts

1) Good Friday started out cold.  We met for morning prayer at church, then proceeded to walk through town praying the Stations of the Cross.  The temperatures did not warm up much as we walked, but the sun was shining.  We stopped and prayed.  We prayed and walked.  The walk is about 5 miles.  We were able to meditate on the Passion of Christ and a His journey to Golgotha.  We were all tired when we returned to our cars that we had parked at the final stop.  The journey was personal, and we each experienced our Camino in a different way.  No two walks are the same.

2) Holy Saturday was the last day of lent.  For me, that  meant 2 things.  1) I bought candy  so that I could  enjoy a few delicious morsels after the Vigil Mass celebration, and 2) Easter Monday, I returned  to my place in the back of the church to celebrate daily Mass.  Until next year, I will only sit in the front when a lector is needed, or when I need to practice more penance.    Now, I ask, am I a better person because I practiced these penances?  Did I grow closer to God because of these acts of penance?  I don't know.  I hope so, but I don't know.

3) Amber and I shared the readings for the Easter Vigil Mass.. She read passages 1, 3, and 5.  I read passages 2, 4, and 6.  She read the introduction.  I read the petitions.  As women, we will have  significant roles in this liturgy.  Since we have read together for the last 3 years, our readings and transitions are very smooth.  Now, I pray that we helped  to make this liturgical celebration more meaningful to all who attended the celebration.  Hallelujah!  The Lord is truly risen!

 4) During Holy Week, I spent a lot of time at church stapling.  Yes, it was grunt work in the workroom.  I stapled all the programs for The Triduum celebrations, and the programs for Easter Sunday worship.  Everything comes with a price.  The staff, in their offices, and that did include our pastor,  was forced to listen to me sing as I worked.  I turned on I Tunes on my phone,  and  I sang along with Fernando Ortega.  I guess that no one else sings as they work.  I was the only one singing.  I was most disappointed that no one wanted to join me as I sang.  Time did go by faster for me as I stapled.  I hope they enjoyed the concert.
5) On Holy Saturday, as I was paying for my candy at Walgreens, I heard a woman behind me say, "Looks like we gave up candy for Lent."  I could hear the laughter in her voice. I smiled and said that she was right.  She turned to the man next to her and said, "Honey, what did you give up for Lent?"  He replied, "Carbonated beverages."  His wife then told us he works for a company that makes these carbonated beverages.  We were all impressed.  She then said, "Beer is a carbonated beverage, dear."  "No," replied her husband, "Beer is fermented barley."  He was not going to indulge in a carbonated beverage until tomorrow, but I think he had a beer that night.  Don't you just love people with a sense of humor?  Made my day!

 6) Three women and I decorated the church for the vigil.  We started working at 9:30 AM, and I finally left the church at 1:45 PM.  Our leader, JoAnn, was a whirlwind of energy.  She’d assign a task and be gone.  You’d see a blur of energy as she moved around the church instructing us on our tasks and recruiting the members of the “Wrecking Crew” to help with the tasks that were too high for us to reach or too heavy for us to lift.  (When JoAnn tells you what to do, you do it.  No questions asked!)  We were still tired from the Amazing Walk, but we got so much done.  The church looked beautiful!  And, I still had time for a nap before the Vigil Mass.  (I'm the one with pink hair!)
7) Sunday, I drove 2 hours to visit my daughter.  We spent a nice afternoon together.  The weather was beautiful!  Our time together was great!  Pixie and I came home, tired, but happy.  Pixie headed for her couch and a nap.  I headed for my bed and nap.  Hallelujah!
