St. Joseph, Pray for Us

^" Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. Her husband Joseph, being a righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to dismiss her quietly.  But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.  She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” 
Matthew 1: 18-21 

" Now after they had left, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.”

I first saw this statue in a photo shoot of the new Pope Francis.  

When Pope Francis invoked the help of St. Joseph, he would write his prayer intention on a small piece of paper.  Next, he would place the paper under the sleeping St. Joseph.

And St. Joseph would help our beloved Pontiff.

Every Wednesday is devoted to St. Joseph.

There is also a special devotion to St. Joseph on the first Wednesday of every month.

This devotion is similar to the First Friday devotion to the Sacred Heart and the First Saturday devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
