My heart is heavy today. More violence against police officers. Being a
Catholic in today's America will not get any easier. How, in the light
of this senseless violence, can we be the light of Jesus? How can we
be the peace that only He can give? It's not a matter of whether we can
or not, it is a matter of doing what we must. We must forgive. We
must comfort. We must educate. We must pray. One of these without the
other is useless. Prayer cannot be ignored. Padre Pio said, "The
Rosary is the weapon for these times." Let's all pray today. Our
country needs it. We need to pray for the conversion of the
perpetrators. We need to pray for the souls of those who have died. We
need to pray for the safety of our women and men who are in law
enforcement. We need to pray.
