St. Michael Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do, thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell satan and all of the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Glory to God in the Highest!

7 Quick Takes This Week - Interesting People, My New Purse, and my favorite mug EVER broke!!!!

What a wonderful gift from God!  I took Pixie out to go potty, and I happened to glance at the window, and I saw it!  This dragonfly was about 6 inches long.  I saw the pattern on it's back.  The wings were brown with a tinge of black.  The body was black and accented with blue.  What a beautiful insect!!!
I was visiting my daughter in her home.  I went to Mass at a church named St. Pasqual Baylon.  The church is shaped like an amphitheater.  I usually sit to the right and one or two from the back.  Shortly after I arrived, I saw a family sitting to my right and down another step or two.  The daughter of the family, who was about 10 or 11.  It turned out later that she was the altar server.  She was simply leaving to get ready for Mass.  As she started down the aisle, she stopped and looked at me.  She gave me a big wink and whispered in my ear, "I REALLY like your hair."  She winked again, and with a big smile, left to dress for Mass!

I had a laugh at morning Mass the other day.  I noticed a gentleman walk into church with a yellow T-shirt.  What's so funny about this, you ask?  Well, it wasn't funny so much as humorous.  His shirt was from an event in which he participated in the year 2000.  I was amazed that a shirt of any kind could last that long.  It looked good, so he must have take care of that yellow shirt.  I'm still amazed!  That shirt was 14 years old.  Do you have any shirts that are 14 years old?  I don't.  I'm still chuckling at that one.

Do you have a favorite color?
Well, if you know me, and even if you don't, and you look at my picture, you know that my favorite color is
PINK!
I do love Pink!
I have had my eye on this purse for a while.  Today,
while I was at Target,
I happened to walk past the the sale rack in the purse section,
I saw it!
My purse was finally on sale!!!

I put that baby in my cart, and off we walked.

I didn't find my child sized hoola hoops, but I did find my purse!!

 --- 5 ---

I walked to the checkout with my new purse.  As I gave my purse to the young man to check me out, I heard a voice behind me say, "Now look at that sassy purse!  Do you think she likes pink?"  I turned to find a woman in an electric wheel chair looking at me.  She had a huge smile on her face.  She was with two women who smiled.  How could I not smile back.  She lifted my spirits.  God sent me a consolation through this wonderful, disabled woman, who was not letting her disability get in the way.  She lives life in the present, and she brought joy into my life.  I thank God for the chance meeting.  I hope she is doing well, whomever she is!!!

My favorite cup broke.  When I got home from my shopping trip, I emptied the dishwasher.  One of the last items I took off the top shelf, I noticed the cup was detached from it's handle.  I've had the cup for about 8 years.  I really liked it, too!  I guess if that's the worst thing that happens to me for the rest of the week, I guess it's okay.

Well, tonight is the night.
The gray is showing through.
It's time to go pink again.
By the time I go to bed,
I will be in the pink
again.

It's been a good week!
I wish you a joyful weekend.
I wish you a God filled weekend.
